Key Responsibilities:
I . Defend the organizational practices of child protect io n, especially not to recruit children for the WV projects , r e port cases of abuse made by members of staff or other persons, etc.
2. Implement the annual strategy plan
3. Manage donors visits and partners in the field
4. Ensure that key internal communications messages and products of WV Niger are skillfully developed and articulated for meeting their objectives.
5. Manage website of WV Niger and relationships between WV Niger and media and press
6. Establish systems and safeguards for the appropriate and effective flows of relevant
information to and from WV Niger staff both internally and externally as/when required.
7. Oversee the consistent and timely offering and production of feature stories and photos for « Share » — the World Vision Partnership-wide website for management of all such resources.
8. Collect stories, photos and other materials produced in the fields and develop Knowledge management.
9. Support and ensure that all communications to various stakeholders, media and public are aligned to WVI quality and brand.
10. Monitor national media and establish the overall capacity of WV Niger to initiate and respond to media contacts with required speed and skill.
Qualifications: Educatjon/Knowled5:e/Technical Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Education/Knowledae/Technical Skills and Experience
- A degree or equivalent in journalism or communications/public relations.
- At least Three years’ professional experience in journalism or public relations is preferred.
- Sound understanding and experience in med ia relations, donor and public comunications, emergency communications, advocacy communications and internal communications
- English language fluency (written and verbal) .
- Excellent writing skills, with photographic and/or video skills also preferred d.
- An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility.
- General experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi-media, websites/pages, photo and video reports, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Able to travel and work in the field as an essential function of the position.
