Poste 1 : Supply Chain Management intern, Abuja, Nigeria – Full-time for 6 months (office-based)
UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.
For every child, equitable access
UNICEF works with governments and partners to strengthen national health supply chains by improving ownership, building capacities and enhancing sustainability with special focus on immunization supply chain. Strong and high-performing supply chains are critical for ensuring that essential and lifesaving public health commodities are available at all service delivery points where children and others need them, including in health facilities, and for mobile or outreach service delivery sessions. These supply chains must be dependable, flexible, adaptive, resilient, and provide an end-to-end perspective, ensuring efficiencies throughout the supply chain until the products are administered.
In Nigeria, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) manages routine immunization, supplementary immunization activities, and outbreak response to vaccine preventable diseases, including COVID-19. NPHCDA manages an Immunization Programme that is responsible for over 210 million Nigerians via a 5-tier immunization supply chain system. Presently, UNICEF is supporting NPHCDA with analysis and recommendations to redesign their in-country immunization supply chain with the construction and operationalization of three megastores.
