Job Title: Construction Planner
Direct supervisor: Project Manager
OBJECTIVE:
The Planner is responsible for providing the planning expertise to develop & direct the construction, controls and planning function on the Goulamina project.

PLANNING | · Ensure the project planning approach remains fit for purpose by incorporating lessons learnt and feedback to optimise planning processes and standards
· Provide technically proficient planning advice about a broad range of development scenarios · Managing the work financially, technically and contractually · Monitor progress and implement controls which deliver the project to the program · Provide the baseline for regular and accurate program updates and reliable forecasts · Present high level project schedule reports to project leadership as required · Communicate with key stakeholders to identify critical information relevant to the Planning Phase of the Project. · Interface collaboratively with Project Engineers and Design resources to capture scheduling events in real time, to ensure schedule development remains realistic and useable · Self-perform the change and development of major project schedules using P6 and/or MS Project · Maintain, report and interpret project schedules providing clear insights to the Project Management Team and LMSA Stakeholders · Participate in internal, external and contractual discussions regarding activity, scheduling and prioritisation · Assist in the analysis of information and producing related reports, proposals and other documents. · Develop performance metrics for projects and project managers · Work with the project team on assessing and reporting on progress · Assist in the development of internal and external monthly reports including Safety, Scheduling, Variations, Earned Value and Commercial · Assist with the development of detailed project schedules in accordance with the project scope of works · Work with the project team on development and maintenance of project s-curves and resource curves · Maintain up to date work experience records and statement of competency records · Implementing and updating 1-, 4- & 12-week detailed look ahead plans from main project schedule · Review project progress and comparison against the project schedule and provide proactive advice to prevent delays · Preparation of reports communicating progress and forecast completion dates · Ensuring planned works have associated documentation, equipment, materials and resources allocated · Scheduling resources and coordinating activities across different departments · Work with project teams to identify critical works, potential and actual delays and issues, and formulate mitigation strategies · Providing clear and concise communication of schedule deviations and impacts to the project management team to ensure early impacts to schedule are highlighted · Producing resource plans including rosters, working patterns, resource profiles, headcount requirement and information to support training and recruitment requirements · Developing comprehensive Basis of Schedule documents outlining schedule assumptions, construction sequencing, calendars, weather, resources, equipment and Critical Path information · Supporting the development and implementation of the project specific advanced work packaging |

· Ensure all legislative, regulatory and statutory obligations are met · Provide reports suitable for executive and board distribution · Conform to company policy and protocols and ensure compliance with all statutory and company obligations · Undertake any other responsibilities as reasonably required |
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Job Classification: According to the Collective Agreement of Companies and Enterprises
- Geological and Hydrogeological Mining in the Republic of Mali in force
- Duty Station: Goulamina
- Date of entry into service: As soon as possible following the end of the publication of this vacancy announcement
- Nature of the contract: 18 months fixed term contract
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Have at least Bac + 4 degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management
- Have a professional experience of at least five (5) years in a similar role, ideally in the construction or similar industry

· Proficiency with Primavera P6 · Demonstrated experience meeting deadlines whilst managing emerging priorities · A high level of skill and understanding of various resource-based planning principles and construction delivery methodologies · Proven experience in leadership and high-level project controls · The ability to communicate with relevant stakeholders to extract the critical information required. · Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and challenge schedule inputs. · The Ability to work closely with key stakeholders to obtain relevant information, then self-perform schedule development and updates in support of the Team’s objectives. · Ability to self-perform the development and ongoing management of detailed schedules across multiple disciplines and Projects · Strong communication skills and ability to interface both with internal and external clients and stakeholders · Experience creating and modifying P6 schedules · Solid MS Excel experience · Familiarity with project or construction schedules and components · Good communication skills and ability to derive information from the site project team · Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail · Highly organised approach to work tasks and deadlines · Self-discipline and work ethic to operate efficiently within a team or autonomously |
