Chemonics is looking for candidates with expertise in the following technical areas:
- Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism
- Citizen Security
- Rule of Law and Government Accountability
- Gender, Youth, and Child Protection
- Social and Behavior Change
- Community Mobilization
- Community Resilience and Economic Growth
- Environmental Justice
- Peacebuilding
- Conflict resolution and Mitigation
- Capacity building of Civil Society Organizations
- Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for donor funded and/or stability activities
- International law, political science, international development, or related fields.
General Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate field
- At least 5 years of appropriate experience
- Proven experience in one of the above-mentioned technical fields
- Experience with donor funded activities or international organizations, and preferably with USAID
- Previous experience working in sub-Saharan Africa countries experiencing conflict, instability, or political transition. Experience in West Africa preferred
- Experience in project management is an added asset
- Solid oral and written communication in English, Fluent French is desirable; fluency in a local language is an additional asset
- Availability to travel to rural areas, security conditions permitting
- The desire to work with an international team in a dynamic environment
