Focus of the Role
The Analyst or Senior Analyst will support the Associates and Advisors on advisory work at the heart of the government. This includes the delivery of economic development and inclusive growth projects, investment promotion, agriculture, development planning and international cooperation, and the maritime economy. The selected candidates will join a dynamic team supporting the implementation of the government’s 2020-2025 roadmap. They will be under the strategic direction of the TBI Country Head and the supervision of the Associates and Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct specialised research (sectoral, organisational or ad hoc) and benchmarking studies on different priority topics – conceptual, data collection, analysis and actionable recommendations
- Contribute to the steering and monitoring of project and programme performance
- Contribute to the organisation’s internal efforts, particularly in analytical capacity building and knowledge management.
- Master all relevant intervention topics, perspectives and value of strategic positioning
Tasks
- Plan, prioritise, and manage workflows from beginning to end, including timelines, content, and deliverables
- Identify and structure problems, develop and apply appropriate analytical frameworks and approaches.
- Identify and gather relevant research and data, and perform quality control to ensure data validity and accuracy
- Proactively identify risks and issues affecting task delivery or workflow, and communicate quickly with solution options
- Present ideas and answer questions clearly and concisely in internal team meetings and with external stakeholders
- Support the completion of high quality written documents and/or presentations
- Present results and presentations using various office tools (Power point, Excel etc.).
Person Specification
- Master’s degree (Bac + 5) in economics, management, finance, engineering / agronomy or equivalent with an international dimension
Experiences
- 2 to 5+ years of professional experience ideally
- Excellent analytical skills, problem solving and data collection skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent numerical skills, methodologies and research methods
- Curious, dynamic, rigorous, and able to work independently and adaptably
- Strong willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team
- French: fluent, written and oral – strong writing skills
- English: Good command required with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Any relevant extracurricular or civic engagement or communal activities will be appreciated
Basic skills and tools
- Flexibility, analytical thinking, results-oriented mindset, teamwork and sensitivity to topics related to the political economy of development and international relations
- Proficiency in the use of presentation and communication tools such as MS Office, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A passion for policy design and delivery.
