Mission of the functional area
The Programme Development department shapes and safeguards quality care and keeps the SOS Care Promise so many more children and young people succeed in life.
The Youth & ICT4D team works with partners, young people and member associations to ensure strong youth development programmes and ICT4D in SOS Children’s Villages, joining forces for better support of young people on their path to decent work and independent lives
Purpose of the position
The aim of the position (0.5 FTE) is to support the implementation of a regional programme for young changemakers in WCNA (so called Youth Power programme) and 10 national Youth Power programmes in 10 Member Associations in Africa (2023: 3 WCNA MAs + 2 ESAF MAs, 2024: 3 WCNA MAs + 2 ESAF MAs).
This position will also support the engagement of Youth Power participants in the YouthLinks platform as well as coordinate the creation of relevant content on youth participation and its respective integration on Rafiki (The Digital Care Assistant (DCA) is a text-voice assistant that SOS care givers and SOS youth can access to find solutions for challenges in alternative care, youth care, education, or employability.)
Main duties and responsibilities including key tasks
Support the regional team with Youth Power implementation in the WCNA region;
Coordinate the implementation and engagement of Youth Power participation in Youthlinks Community ;
Support the MAs with national Youth Power implementation (2023: 3 WCNA MAs + 2 ESAF MAs, 2024: 3 WCNA MAs + 2 ESAF MAs);
Coordinate the content development and integration for Rafiki. This includes the integration of content in questions and answers format on Rafiki chatbot platform;
Monitor on progress and results;
Coordinate the project closing and final evaluation;
Coordinate the collection and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned from Youth Power;
Conduct field missions in some MAs selected;

Education qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience
- Experience in child and youth participation (3 years)
- Be a strong driver
- Digitally eager and understands the importance of digitalization
- Experience from working in cross sector partnerships preferably Private-Corporate/NGO sector 1 years
- Experience from working or doing an internship at SOS Children’s Villages GSC or RO/MA 1 years
- Experience in working with digital platforms
- Experience from working or studying abroad and in international context 1 years
