Location:  Nairobi, Kenya, or any other Oxfam office location preferably in the Global South where the candidate can legally be employed (subject to being able to estabish a contract of employment)

Contract: Fixed term, 18 months

One Oxfam Grade: C1

Salary and benefits: National terms and conditions, subject to location

Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must already have and be able to retain the legal right to work where they are based. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.

The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a Health and Inequality Policy Adviser.

The purpose of this role is to provide policy and advocacy support to Oxfam’s global campaigning on vaccines and inequality.

The post will be responsible for research, analysis and preparation of policy and statistics related to health and economic inequality.  There will be a particular focus on vaccine inequality, and research and production of facts in relation to the campaign for a People’s Vaccine, of which Oxfam is a founding member.

The post holder will work closely with Oxfam colleagues and allies, in a high pressure and exciting environment, delivering high quality products to tight deadlines.

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of successful policy and advocacy work for media and campaigning.  They will need to be able to manipulate and utilise complex data sets to produce strong and impactful facts for all types of media. They should have good experience of research and policy work regarding health or economic inequality issues.

We are looking for someone who is great at working with others from all over the world in a fast-paced, coalition environment and who can deliver high quality written and numerical outputs within this context. Candidates must also have a passion for gender rights.
