Nestlé Research & Development Center, Abidjan is currently looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager who will be responsible for Monitoring, Evaluating, and Learning (MEL) for Nestlé Cocoa Plan globally, contributing to the development of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan and its programmes inc Income accelerator. You will also oversee creating and maintaining a farmer database to give a reliable base to learning and reporting. The role reports locally into the NCP Cote d’Ivoire manager, with a dotted line to the global NCP lead.
A day in the life of…
As our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager you will lead activities in line with Nestle Cocoa Plan (NCP) as follows:
- MEL system ownership: Putting in place an M&E plan and establish a data collection and maintenance process
- Gathering data from NCP partners globally – inc activity, output, and impact KPIs, regarding all pillars of NCP, including regenerative agriculture
- Oversee development of a farmer database system, including Geographic Information system, in co-ordination with Nestlé IT
- Perform data analysis to find correlations and patterns and create practical recommendations
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers, local partners & other stakeholders
- Create robust and timely dashboard to track and report sustainability results, including investments, KPIs, carbon reductions/removals, living income, regenerative agriculture, and projects’ data. Reporting in a manner so others can comprehend
- Commission research and data capture
- Follow up on programmes and lead quarterly reviews with suppliers
- Compile KPIs for internal and external reporting
What will make you successful
Operational Experience:
- Experience in Monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies and systems in global role
- Familiarity with knowledge management principles, tools and geospatial data. Hands on ability to build and analyse data
- Understanding the key MEL issues in cocoa and/or smallholder agriculture environment
- Experience in managing quantitative and qualitative research
- Creation of GIS or other data systems
- Up country field experience is desirable
- Leadership without direct reports (individual contributor)
- Experience about the dynamics of rural societies and their development.
- Good presentation skills and excellent communication skills.
- Good persuasion skill to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent project management skills with drive for result
- Conversant with Microsoft office, statistical and mapping tools
- Excellent knowledge of French and English.

And support other HR functions (HRBP, Employee Relation) in the affected country
A day in the life of…
Your other responsibilities will include;
Local HR Service Delivery
- Deliver local administrative services within the defined SLAs in line with Standard Routines across HR Processes.
- Partner with the respective Centers of Competence and HRBPs to ensure operational needs are addressed and resolved in a timely and efficient manner
- Be the relay in term of communication and administrative tasks for HRBP and face to face communication with employees
E2E Service Delivery
- Have a general knowledge about the End-to-End HR processes (ELC, CSO, E&G, M&E), acting as local support to HRBPs, Line Managers and employees
- Work together with internal stakeholders across the HR value chain ensuring a consistent and efficient execution of local activities
- Provide relevant information and manage local HR processes (e.g. Payroll, Time Management, employee benefits).
Implementation of Policies and Practices
- Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood, applied and followed with a customer centric mindset
- Contribute to ensuring data accuracy and timeliness with the Center of Competence
Employee Relation support
- Be the physical contact and ensure execution of social activities and employee relation activity in Camreoun
- Work closely with employee relation manager to ensure compliance in HR activity and physical relationship with local authorities
What will make you successful
- University Degree level / Master’s Degree in HR, Business Management / Law
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Advanced Use of Microsoft: good mastery of Excel
- Familiar with Payroll and HR systems – SAP, SAGE etc.
- Proficiency in English is required
- Great Team Lead / Member
- Result Oriented / Proactive
