MSH is seeking a Principal Technical Advisor, Regulatory Systems Strengthening and Pharmacovigilance in Senegal for a newly awarded Global Fund-funded project designed to strengthen in-country pharmacovigilance capacity of pilot countries including Senegal, Cameroon and Mozambique to improve surveillance of adverse reactions in patients following treatment with innovative medicines.
Activities and deliverables to be developed and completed in consultation with the MSH technical team and consultants.
- Redefine PV roles and responsibilities
- Establish a PV hiring plan
- Review PV contracts
- Establish a PV training plan
Required skills/experience
- Graduate or master’s degree in human resources, industrial or organizational psychology, organizational or workforce development or related field.
- International expertise in Legal and policies on pharmaceutical guidelines, and procedures specifically on pharmacovigilance organizational structure
- At least 7 years of working experience in human resources.
- Significant experience in international public health with at least five years’ experience related to health systems strengthening, or pharmaceutical manage ment, human resources preferably in work funded by USAID.
- Experience in public health programs in low- and middle-income countries in terms of the development of human resource structure and management.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in supervising and working with human resource teams.
- Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and management, especially with government representatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Ability to organize work with minimum supervision
- Ability to review institutional and operational policies and procedures, prepare and review reports, training materials, documents, data collection tools, check lists and presentations
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, communication skills, training experience, ability to identify and resolve policy and operational constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with senior government officials and other stakeholders.
