Le projet a démarré dans trois pays en novembre 2017 et a été étendu à sept pays en 2019 (Nigeria, Sénégal, Guinée, Gambie, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone et Liberia). Il est mené par des bénévoles qui utilisent des techniques de narration pour enregistrer et diffuser des entretiens avec des migrants de retour et partager ces histoires en ligne et lors d’événements communautaires.
Under the direct supervision of Migrants as Messengers (MaM) Project Manager at IOM’s Regional Office for West and Central Africa in Dakar, the successful candidate will write a report on the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) study. The study was conducted over two years and included data collection to measure improvement of the wellbeing of the returned migrants who were active Volunteers in the Migrants as Messengers project.
Core Functions and Responsibilities:
- Conduct a technical desk review to support data analysis findings
- Review the data analysis to be able to write the narrative analysis
- Draft a report in line with IOM writing guidelines and in collaboration with the project’s Impact Evaluation team. The report should include:
a. Executive summary
b. Introduction
c. Problem statement and hypothesis
d. Methodology
e. Results and Findings
f. Comments and analysis of the results and findings
g. Recommendation
h. Bibliography
- Send draft report to members of a review board and address all reviewer comments to finalize the report.
- Liaise with IOM’s graphic designer, copy editor, external translator and IOM’s Publication Unit to finalize the content (in English), layout, translation (to French), and publishing of the report in French and English.
- Draft a one pager (brief) and presentation of the key findings of the report.
- Present final findings of the report to IOM colleagues.
- Identify promotion channels for the report (such as identifying conferences, publications, presentations, etc.) where the study can be shared/presented, and pitch and/or place the report in these channels.

Promotional content for the launch of the report has been created and finalized (e.g., video interviews, one pager, presentation) -**31 August**
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Participation in ‘IOM corporate programmes in Psychosocial Interventions in Emergency and Displacement’ or similar will be considered an asset.
Experience
· Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in mental health and psychosocial support.
· Proven experience in strategic approaches for mainstreaming mental health and psychosocial support.
- Excellent report writing skills with proven track-record of producing reports or academic publications linked to the subject area of the project.
- Experience in research processes and methodology.
- Expertise and experience in qualitative data collection with vulnerable populations.
- Expertise and experience in training facilitation.
- Familiarity with the region is an advantage
Language
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Working knowledge in French is also required.
