Your Charge 

To assess and analyze community health program performance, processes, and systems; design and ensure effective implementation of new initiatives, policies, and processes that drive impact and coordinate with other departments when necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Ensure service delivery teams in the field are fully equipped to deliver high-quality community health programs according to the DESC approach. The focus includes the following:
    • Digitally Enabled
      • Collaborate with the Digital Health team to ensure the mhealth & supervisor app workflows & dashboards are functional and user-friendly.
    • Equipped:
      • Coordinate pre-service and in-service training agendas and ensure training quality is up to the standard. Co-develop training materials when necessary.
      • Design process, systems, and policies to ensure CHWs are in-stock of essential commodities.
    • Supervised:
      • Co-designing the necessary training materials and tools for supervisors to deliver high-quality, impactful, and cost-efficient in-person or remote supervision
      • Train supervisors on high-quality supervision and on using data for decision-making and driving performance.
    • Compensated
      • Ensure CHVs improve health outcomes through the design of impactful incentives
  • Ensure CHWs are paid on time by LG or by the districts.
  • Co-designing and project-managed the implementation of selected innovations/ experiments.
  • Support the monthly analysis of results in conjunction with the field teams and the monitoring and evaluation team.
  • Take the lead in the implementation of recommendations from internal/external audits as they relate to the Service Delivery Team.

Performance management

  • From participation in relevant stakeholder meetings and other fora, identify choke points to the effectiveness of the service delivery teams and champion the process of resolution of identified challenges.
  • Support the country program in the implementation of quarterly improvement plans (QIPs). Monitor follow-up actions & coordinate with the relevant team as necessary.
  • As per the agreed-upon quarterly review and plan, champion implementation of remedial actions
  • Document the various actions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Thinks several steps ahead to anticipate likely outcomes and decide on the best course of action.
  • Clearly understands operational strategy and objectives and linkages to organizational strategy.
  • Manages programs/projects to ensure all team members are fully deployed and skills are matched to the project requirements.
  • Strong management orientation and high levels of integrity.
  • Ability to communicate both inside and outside the organization and make a formal presentation.
  • French and English proficiency (verbal and written communication).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any medical/ public health field with relevant project management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with three (3) years project/program management level.
