Opportunity
As a Finance Officer, you will be the main contact for all compliance and corporate accounting issues.You will work with external parties, vendors like Auditors, Tax Outsourced partners, other local authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure that all audit and tax related matters are dealt with timely and efficiently Anchor all accounting deliveries in the country.
The Gabon Finance Officer will work closely with our colleagues in GSC and will support the Regional Tax Manager to resolve challenges relating to unexpected tax audits as well as support in the submission of local tax returns basis country-specific Tax Compliance Checklist.
The job entails building a trusted relationship with key business stakeholders and Ensuring we use and leverage simple and standard processes, not only in the country, but throughout the area as well.

Key Responsibilities:
- Business Continuity: Ensuring effective stakeholder management with primary external stakeholders, managing unplanned visits or raids by Authorities and avoiding business disruption in the country till such time as Area, Regional or Center support is received.
- Statutory Accounting: Ensuring a timely book close and in close collaboration with the GSC and Owning and providing insight into the country Financial Statements.
- Tax: Ensuring that tax checks are executed in relation to tax filing as applicable.
- Legal and Corporate Secretarial: Overseeing legal disputes in coordination with the Area Head of Legal and Compliance and/or local legal counsel.
- Control Environment: Ensure that any risks and control deficiencies raised by GIA/BCO/GSC are addressed timely.
- Business Finance: Assist the Area Business Finance team in proactively supporting the Area Functional Leads in improving the business results.
- Ensure clarity in respect of the appropriate contact points for example, via an Escalation Matrix, to resolve vendor and customer escalations and other exception handling (example: litigation).
Main Requirements:
- A financial educational background such as Master’s degree in Finance, Tax, Economics, Accounting and/or a Chartered Accountancy qualification.
- Prior proven experience (at least 2 years) in a similar function or in a consulting firm.
- Preferably experienced in working closely with offshore teams in service centers.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft package ( especially Excel).
- Logistic experience and SAP Knowledge are an advantage.
- Can influence with and without authority, and Detail oriented.
- Problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
