HSE SAFETY OFFICER/BASED ON SITE
We have an immediate requirement for an experienced, motivated and professional HSE SAFETY OFFICER. If you are dedicated, professional and experienced, we would like to hear from you.
Main missions
Develop, implement and monitor HSEQ management plans. Maintain compliance to Capital Limited HSEQ policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensures site compliance with company and Malian occupational safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines, as well as with Capital Limited environmental, health, and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Must have;
- A minimum of three years’ experience working in a similar role
- Experience working on a mine site and working with heavy equipment’s
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Skill in performing on-site HSEQ inspections
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
- Ability to develop and implement safe work procedures
- Skill in conducting accident investigations
- Knowledge of the nature and usage of a wide range of fire prevention, safety, health protection, and environmental protection equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of local, safety, environmental, and health regulations and procedures
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures
- Knowledge of current and developing on-site trends
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities.
Assist the Project Manager to enforce the company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policies.
Assist in the implementation of the HSEQ management plans, Capital Limited HSEQ policies, and compliance with applicable Malian legislation and System Requirements.
Provide timely advise to the Project Manager and Project Supervisors on effective implementation of the HSEQ Management Plans.
Assist to develop, implement, and monitor emergency response and management plans.
Advice procurement on the purchase of HSEQ related items.
Participate in project internal and external system audits and inspections (ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO9001).
Keep and maintain OHSE records in accordance with Malian regulations, Capital Limited and HSEQ system requirements.
Conduct HSEQ related training.
Ensure the proper use of HSEQ forms (i.e. toolbox meeting, Take-5, Hazard IDs, JSEAs, Pre-Start Inspections, Planned Task Observations, etc.) and provide training and coaching when deficiencies are noted.
Investigate complaints by any employee relating to the employee’s health or safety at work.
Coordinate health and safety committee meetings and Weekly HSEQ Meetings.
Discuss safety and health as a value at all meetings.
Set a personal example on all matters of health, safety, and environment. Live and visibly demonstrate Capital Limited values.
