Christian Aid is looking for a Governance Program Manager to represent and be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring and reporting of CA DRC’s strategy on governance, peace, and poverty reduction through development programming. The post holder will be based in Kinshasa, Goma or Kindu with considerable travel and engagement in eastern DRC and Kasai as well as in international and regional forums. You will lead Christian Aid’s Governance Strategy in DRC, leading and inspiring a team of experienced staff who have developed and manage a strong portfolio of current and prospective Governance Programs, including democratic processes, Voice, Participation & Accountability, Civil Society strengthening, gender-sensitive governance, Human Rights & Rule of Law.

About you

You are an innovative and experienced Governance and Rights advocate/practician, with a track record managing programs in civil society strengthening, local governance, Youths and Gender, developing creative proposals and approaches and maximizing donor engagement opportunities.

You can conduct high-level research and communicate strong and compelling cases to key stakeholders (including donors) on why they should support Christian Aid’s programs and initiatives. You will have extensive knowledge of the political, economic, social, and legal landscape of the DRC, supported by a solid understanding of its development challenges, initiatives, and options.

You have strong networking abilities, team-building skills, strategic planning, and leadership abilities, and are confident operating in a large and complex environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
