Arts Project Manager Senegal
Role Purpose
The Arts Project Manager Senegal will, working closely with the Country Director and other colleagues, lead on the design, development and implementation of Arts activities in-country, delivered through one or more of the Arts four global programmes: Culture Connects, Spotlights on Culture, Creative Economy and Arts Responds to Global Challenges.
He/she will lead on partnerships and business development for our Arts portfolio, identifying potential funding and delivery partners from among international donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundations, and submitting proposals to such partners. He/she will manage sector partner and stakeholder relationships. They will also build relationships and work closely with their peers in Senegal and in SSA, and across the global Arts network, often collaborating on global programmes.
Role specific knowledge and experience:
The main essential knowledge and experience points that we are looking for you to evidence are:
- Specialist knowledge and understanding of current trends and practices in at least one sector of the arts and creative industries in Senegal
- Demonstrable experience of working on national arts/ creative industry projects
- Good understanding of the arts and creative industries in country
- Proven experience of working in or with the arts and/or creative industries sector
- Active and up-to-date network of diverse arts sector contacts
- Active commitment to Equality, Diversity and Knowledge
- Understanding of programme/project governance structures
- Able to lead digital events on basic platforms (Microsoft Teams) ensuring all corporate standards are met, including those for accessibility and safeguarding
Desirable Experience:
- Understanding and appreciation of current arts trends and practices in the UK
- Experience of working on international arts projects

Remuneration – XOF 1,178,774 per month
Contract Type – 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location – Dakar, Senegal
Requirements – All applicants should have a pre-existing legal status to live and work in Senegal. The British Council will not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits.
