OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The mission of WHO’s Emergencies Preparedness and Response program is to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks and, when national capacities are overwhelmed, to lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
In the context of the WHO Health Emergencies Preparedness and Response (EPR), at regional and Hub level, the associate reporting and administrative officer is responsible to provide within the AFRO OSL Pillar a set of services related to reporting and general administration.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to the following assigned duties:
- Keep abreast of all developments to prepare appropriate periodic reports and other documentation as required.
- Accompany the OSL Manager in high-level meetings and produce meeting minutes and relevant documents.
- Assist, plan, coordinate, and report on OSL Manager missions.
- Prepare summary reports including, but not limited to briefing notes, background notes, and talking points.
- Participate in strategic and managerial meetings with the OSL Team and keep a record of key decisions/agreements made. Produce and disseminate meeting minutes.
- Monitor and report on outcomes of meetings.
- Monitor and track the implementation of OSL action plans and managerial decisions.
- Support the OSL Manager in planning, preparing, and conducting workshops and meetings. Assist with the organization of meetings and critical consultations related to OSL.
- Consolidate and format OSL monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports.
- Carry out administrative duties related to OSL (calendar management, travel arrangements, etc.).
- In close collaboration with the EPR administration unit, provide support on administrative related needs.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: A first university degree in Business Administration / International Relations / Communication or related field.
Desirable: Studies in Project Management or Communication.
Experience
Essential: At least two years of progressively responsible professional experience in reporting, administration, or project management at the national or international level.
Desirable:
- Experience in health emergency response operations.
- Relevant field experience in WHO, UN agencies, or International NGOs in developing countries.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Good drafting and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Knowledge of administrative policies, practices, and procedures and the ability to apply them.
- Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and keep deadlines.
- Team spirit and time management skills.
- Experience in handling confidential and sensitive material is required.

REMUNERATION
WHO offers staff in the Professional Category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at 49,254 US Dollars (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable). Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family
members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.and 30 days of annual leave.

NPO (Maladies tropicales négligées)
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Apporter un appui technique aux Programmes Nationaux en charge des MTN PCC en matiere de planification, de mise en œuvre et de suivi -evaluation des activites de lutte en vue soit de l’eradication, l’elimination ou le controle (en alignement au PNDS et aux plans directeurs nationaux de lutte contre les MTN). Apporter un appui technique au gestionnaire du programme national de lutte contre les Maladies Tropicales Negligees a Chimiotherapie Preventive (MTN-CTP) a savoir: Filariose Lymphatique, Schistosomiase,Geohelmintiases et Trachome pour la mise a l’echelle des Traitements de Masse des Medicaments.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Sous la supervision du Coordonnateur de la lutte contre la maladie et la direction du Representant de l’OMS au Tchad, le/la titulaire du poste doit: Servir de Point Focal pour l’OMS dans le cadre des activites de lutte contre les Maladies Tropicales Negligees dans le pays et apporter un appui consequent a tous les Programmes MTN, institutions gouvernementales et acteurs de la societe civile œuvrant dans le domaine de la lutte contre les MTN ; Appuyer le ministere de la sante dans la coordination des MTN et aider dans le plaidoyer en faveur d’un soutien fort et durable du gouvernement aux activites de lutte contre les MTN. Appuyer le renforcement des capacites des Programmes MTN Appuyer le pays dans le plaidoyer pour la mobilisation des ressources et des medicaments pour les traitements des MTN. Appuyer le pays dans la mise en place d’un systeme de suivi-evaluation des donnees de base sur les MTN Appuyer le pays dans mise en œuvre des activites de promotion et reduction des facteurs de risque des MTN Promouvoir l’implication des partenaires dans les activites de lutte contre les MTNS’acquitterde toute autre tache de sa competence confiee par le Representant de l’OMS et le superviseur direct.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Licence ou Diplome universitaire en Sante Publique ou Epidemiologie
Desirable: Maitrise en sciences de la sante
Experience
Essential: Avoir une experience professionnelle de 2 ans dans la planification, la mise en œuvre et le suivi-evaluation des activites de prevention et controle des maladies.Une experience d’au moins 2 ans dans le domaine de la lutte contre les MTN serait un atout
Desirable: Avoir une experience averee de terrain (avoir ete medecin chef de Zone de sante ou un medecin coordonnateur provincial dans la mise en œuvre des activites de lutte d’un des programmes MTN Experience de travail avec la communaute et les organisations de la Societe Civiles dans le cadre de la luttecontre les MTN dans le pays serait un atout.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at XAF 20,475,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
